Welcome to unCapitali.se - We are a wiki based on a specific subset of knowledge. Unlike Wikipedia.org, we do not seek to write about all knowledge under the sun. Our goal is specific: to report on the relationships between a company and its' products, shareholders, host community, vendors, workers and the government via lobbyists, politicians, and Political Action Committees (PACs). The idea is to use this information not to create a complete picture of the business or its history and activities, but rather to cut through the advertising mythology and corporate assertions to form objective and qualitative synopses. These synopses will form the basis of a corporate, product, owner, donor and politician scores.

Business Score
Scores will be based on the following categories, with some being weighted more than others. For example, if a product is environmentally friendly, but profits go to politicians and PACs that work to weaken environmental regulation or work to get pardons or favorable judicial rulings, the product will still be rated unfavorably in the environmental category.
The initial categories we seek to score are as follows (but are subject to change):

- Small & Local Business Friendly
- Women & Minority Friendly
- Supportive of Historic Preservation
- Supportive of Veterans
- LBGTQAI + Sensitive
- Competitiveness
- Pro-Third World (Non- Exploitive)
- CEO & Officer Pay Not Exploitive
- Avoids Monopolistic and Oligarchical Business Practices
- Avoids Using Corporate Power to Advance Unethical or Illegal Contracts
- Pro-Democracy & Open Government
- Fair Lobbying Practices
- Fair Trade Practices
- Fair Political Donation Practices
- Fair Taxation (Not-externalizing housing, wage or health care underpayments to taxpayers)
These scores will be based on a scale of -100 to +100, with the lowest end of the scale being very unfavorable/harmful and the highest end being favorable/beneficial. In this way, we hope to create a system that can be objectively applied over time, though in the beginning it may be a bit subjective until a rubric for qualitative analysis is selected.
A score of zero (0) is reserved for not enough information. If information is available, a -1 or less, or a +1 or greater are to be used.
As eluded to earlier, a weighting system is necessary as certain criteria are more influential than others. Negative Screening is necessary to show that corporations lobbying to buy time with and access to politicians counts for more than any token acts designed to lead consumers and the public to believe a company is virtuous. For example, paying to plant a tree on Earth Day versus having a large fleet of diesel trucks that send tens-of-thousands of tons of carbon into the atmosphere, lobbying for exemption from environmental regulations, or funneling money into PACs that advertise for anti-environment politicians or legislation. We wish it were not necessary, but in the struggle sift through available information to understand which products and stores are more beneficial or harmful than others, it becomes necessary to enter into detailed analyses to categorize and re-categorize information as it becomes available.
Who We Are
unCapitali.se is a Minnesota based business started by former Mayor Bjorn Skogquist. His observation is a somber one. His preference would have been to include this information in Wikipedia.org, and to found a non-profit to take donations to advance this work. However, the Trump Administration is actively revoking 501(c)(3) non-profit charters for suspicions political reasons. Further, anything with a .com address is subject to terrorism charges for the least offenses which can be equally as suspect. This strengthens corporation positioning and allows the government to censor and silence websites and organizations it considers dangerous to its agenda.
Mr. Skogquist has therefor set for this project apart from any other existing project. It has no affiliation with any other U.S. based project. unCapitali.se has servers located in Sweden, which boasts one of the strongest sets of free press laws on earth.
Articles are written by volunteers, but staff are involved in management, maintenance, promotion and corporate governance and finance. It is hoped that a balance between the virtues of a non-profit/NGO and the protections and advantages of a corporation will provide the maximum amount of flexibility and resources necessary to builda set of data valuable to members. It is the hope of all involved that this project quickly move from an information gathering phase to a more active phase involving recommendations and and collective action.
How You Can Help
Though unCapitali.se is a business, it seeks paying members, volunteer writers, editors, researchers and technically trained people who understand servers, databases, communications, website mechanics, SEO, and any other skills relevant to wikis, applications, data and public reporting. We are looking for assistance in sharing articles, summary memes, business scores, drafting summary quotes about positions worth sharing, etc. It is our hope that from the governments illegal occupation of Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and other cities across America, we grow into a proactive member-benefit organization willing to do the work it will take to intentionally avoid investment in the companies that contribute to anti-democratic, unconstitutional & authoritarian power structures.
Mr. Skogquist's answer to the murders of Alex Pretti, Renee Good and at least 6 others who were killed at the hands of Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers is, "Not one cent."
To this end, unCapitali.se welcomes you, wherever you are, to not only examine your purchases to determine where your money goes, but to log that information here. In that way, it will not be lost on a blog or social media post. It will not be hidden in a Signal chat or lost when a phone is traded. The information will live here, and grow, and become valuable to us all in the fight to keep our most important freedom, the freedom to withhold our money from tyrants, alive and well.
